Many people plan a wedding a long time in advance, sometimes years ahead of the date, but it is possible to organise your perfect wedding in less than 6 months. Often this comes with a cost benefit particularly if you can be date flexible to take advantage of any late availability.
Here are some top tips from the wedding planning team at Mountains Country House to help make the planning process as stress free and enjoyable as possible.
Setting a date:
We would like to announce that Saturday the 7th of May 2016 has unexpectedly become available. To discuss or to check availability of other dates please contact one of the Events Team on 01732 832222 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Future Bride and Grooms must submit their marriage notice early enough to allow the registrar to ensure both parties are free to marry one another. The minimum period for this is 28 days however this allows no time for complications, so we would advise you try to prepare this 3 months before your wedding date. The Registrar General is able authorise a marriage to take place if 28 days notice has not been given in exceptional circumstances.
Please see:http://www.nidirect.gov.uk/how-and-when-to-give-notice-for-marriage for more details or contact one of our Event Managers.
Decorations and Flowers:
Award winning and popular suppliers may already be booked up- so look at smaller suppliers, local florists and in season flowers that aren’t too hard to get hold of. Alternatively consider sourcing your own decorations from the high street or internet. Decorations are always in high demand, so if hiring isn’t an option have a think about buying your own and selling them on after the wedding day or perhaps hiring your items out yourself.
We are lucky to offer recommended suppliers who have a multitude of experience at Mountains.
These suppliers are more likely to be available as they work closely with our venue regularly, it’s a good idea to contact our Events Managers to find out who these companies or individuals are and what they have to offer.

Contact your local bakery and smaller suppliers or again our recommended suppliers.
Try to opt for a standard style cake with no customisation and perhaps add a few flowers in theme with your centrepieces/bouquets to set the finishing touches. Less is more after all!
